43 Foreign Patents Rejected 10/31/2009
Posted by Admin I Source: Bisnis Indonesia, 29 October 2009 JAKARTA: A total of 43 patent applications and simple patents from abroad rejected by the Patent Directorate’s Examiners because they do not meet the requirements as stipulated in the prevailing Patent Act. According to the Patent Act, the rejection of the applications was based on lack of novelty. That is, innovative technologies that will be given the patent already exists. Besides, these patents can not be applied to the industry. Patent application from the United States since 1991 until September of this year still on the top rankings in terms of the number of requests to Indonesia namely 19,131, followed by Japan (12,433) and Germany of 6201.
